Age & Sun Spot Removal

Sun spots (age spots) can make you appear older than you are.  These spots, also known as lentigines, are harmless, flat, brown discolorations of the skin.  Sun spots are caused by the skin being exposed to the sun over many years, and are a sign of sun damage.  Sun spots usually occur on the face, neck, chest, hands, and arms.  If you do not believe that sun spots are due to sun damage, look at your inner thigh and you will see that it does not have any brown discoloration at all.

First Glance offers both intense pulse light (IPL) and laser technology to remove age spots.  IPL is a minimal downtime procedure that can erase your age spots in one to five treatments.  The spots will darken before they come off and look like “pepper” on the skin.  Treated areas can be covered with makeup, if desired.

After two IPL treatments:

Laser skin resurfacing with our SmartXide CO2 Laser will eliminate sun spots along with fine lines and wrinkles.  Again, several sessions may be needed for maximum clearance.
