Spider Vein Removal
You do not have to suffer the embarrassment of unwanted spider veins any longer because your concerns are our concerns.
Millions of men and women of all ages are bothered by unsightly spider veins on their faces and legs.
Spider veins, or telangiectasias, are small red, blue or purple blood vessels that appear on the face and legs. They are caused by the dilation of a small group of blood vessels near the skin’s surface. Although these vessels carry blood, they are not part of the venous valve system and their elimination causes no harm to the circulatory system. Spider veins can be caused by heredity, aging, trauma, sun exposure and certain lifestyle factors.
First Glance Medical Spa offers two highly effective procedures for spider vein removal; sclerotherapy and laser treatment.

After one treatment:

Laser Treatment
Laser technology offers a safe, non-surgical means of treating spider veins. The laser delivers a specific wavelength of light to the vessel wall causing it to collapse. The collapsed vessel is then slowly absorbed by the body. No anesthesia or pain medication is needed and treatments are quick, with little or no discomfort.
Sclerotherapy
While laser treatment for spider veins is the treatment of choice for many individuals, sclerotherapy or a combined approach may provide superior results in many cases. Using a small needle, a chemical solution is injected into the vein which irritates the lining and causes the vein to collapse and disappear. These injections are relatively painless.

FAQ:
Q: What will I look like after a procedure?
A: Immediately following sclerotherapy or laser treatment, the veins may look red and irritated, resembling a scratch. This look is temporary and fades within a few days. Later, the veins may appear dark or pigmented, as your body is absorbing the vessel. However, this darkening is also temporary and will fade as the vein disappears.
Q: What do I need to do after a treatment?
A: It is important to avoid any activity that may dilate the vessels for 3 days following your treatment. These activities include: intense aerobic exercise, excessive alcohol intake, hot tub soaks, and sun exposure. To maximize results, compression hose are recommended. The hose help keep the treated veins closed. These are available at the time of your procedure.
Q: How many treatments will be required?
A: Generally one to three treatments are needed. The number will vary for each person depending on the size of the vein and number of veins involved. Treatments can be scheduled four to six weeks apart.
